Join us as we welcome Julissa, for the first time teaching Brazilian zouk in Minneapolis and returning fan favorite, Kuna! We will have 6 hours of workshops and 2 nights of dancing PLUS a special Guest DJ! The workshops will be half technical drill based while the other half will be social dancing skills. Julissa being the queen that she is will be teaching her famous one footed spins class as part of the technical half. The workshops are geared towards level 2 and above. More details to come about workshops. These two are one of a kind heart warming humans! You do not want to miss out, come join the fun!

We have 6 hours planned for workshops (class details coming soon) and 13 hours of social dancing every night!

Lui & Larissa are coming to Minneapolis!! This will be the ONLY stop in the Midwest for these insanely talented artists! 7 hours of intermediate classes with a curriculum that will include progressive head movement workshops, one footed spins and lead/follow styling PLUS 13.5 hours of social dancing!

Who are Lui & Larissa?
“Lui and Larissa are two young Brazilian Zouk teachers from São Paulo. With an organic and innovative approach, they promote studies that contribute to Brazilian Zouk reaching new levels. They have been studying social couple dances since 2012 and in 2015 they focused their specialization on Brazilian Zouk. Their mission is to contribute to a happier and more empathetic society through art. They work to spread what they learn with lightness and love.”

Event Description:

A&T Zouk present to you the magnificent Paloma Alvez and Kuna Hamad!

Friday will start with a 2 hour open level workshop this way all have an opportunity to experience the magic. Then we will move into the social and dance the night away.

Saturday we will start our morning with a 3 hour rejuvenating Wimhoff Method workshop with certified instructor Nick Fox. Which will end in a cold plunge! Haven’t heard of the Wimhoff Method? Please look it up it’s fascinating! This workshop will be an optional add-on, we hope you join us! Why are we doing this? 1) Bc Paloma wants to and we don't say no to her 2) Kuna is interested to know how it will affect our dancing and we don't say no to him either. More info to follow.
Sat & Sun will consist of 4 hours of guided training and lab with Paloma and Kuna. This will be a high level structured class.
More details to come.

We are trying to find a balance of enough social dancing, learning and rest so our schedule may look a little different than most common weekenders…

Head & Upper Body Movement Workshop with Lydia

Join Lydia for a workshop focused on head/upper body movement for followers in Brazilian Zouk. We will stretch, drill and train to deepen our connection with our bodies. The goal of the workshop is to take time to understand how our bodies move individually and find head movement that feels comfortable and most importantly, is safe! This is all to help followers feel more comfortable and confident in their own bodies in Brazilian Zouk. Come out and have fun while getting some training in!

Please note that this workshop is geared towards follows, however leads are welcome to join if they would like to deepen their understanding of head movement and follower's technique.

About "Anatomy of Comfort"

The Anatomy of Comfort Weekender is a 10-hour Intensive training program. Discover the elements of physics and body mechanics that create comfort!

What makes a comfortable dance? What makes it uncomfortable? How can you create more comfort in your body, and in your partner's body? How can you keep your dance comfortable regardless of speed or intensity?
This course will explore and clarify the elements of physics and body mechanics that determine what feels comfortable or uncomfortable. By understanding these principles, you can create more comfort in your dance and a wider range of possible movements and pathways.

Workshop Details
- Saturday - 3 hrs - Zouk bootcamp 2 hrs + Playing with Fusion elements in Zouk 1 hr
- Sunday - 3 hrs - Zouk Spirals + Flow

Workshop Levels.
This workshop will be most beneficial for people who take the entire workshop (both days).
Saturday is all levels.
Sunday workshops will need knowledge of Zouk Basics or participation in Saturday workshops.

About Rachel
Rachel Leigh Farley is a progressive educator, school leader, and dancer advocating for inclusivity and liberation.

Rachel specializes in social dances including Brazilian Zouk, Blues, Lindy Hop, and Fusion. She guides young people and adults through workshops that leave students feeling more self-aware, creative, and collaborative. Rachel believes trauma-informed movement tools are powerful in the transformation of individuals and communities.

Rachel's path was paved by her mother and grandmother, both professional dancers. They instilled a curious mindset seeking to engage the world through music, dance, and travel. Getting a jump start on the legacy, Rachel started teaching when she was 11 years old and has facilitated hundreds of workshops for over 5,000 students.

Rachel is a well-known educator shifting paradigms around brain/body awareness. Her unique approach to dance and education addresses human connection, grind culture, and personal wellness. Her workshops have impacted classrooms, companies, and dance studios across North America.
